Dazzlewhite Tooth Whitening, Deceptive Ads

Author: Galoo

This is an update to a recent post to something I THOUGHT was a good deal but turns out to be a very deceptive marketing technique.

Articles I read and the video on their website were very impressive. (However, the articles are written by marketing people who tend to benefit from orders originating from the sites.)

By phone, I ordered a SAMPLE of DazzleWhite, aka Beutyclub and/or White Teeth, for $4.95 (as advertised on the Internet). On the phone the sales person, or order taker, tried to upsell me to a recurring subscription for $79+ which I vehemently rejected, saying I was only interested in the SAMPLE. I did NOT want to purchase anything else or to be put into an automatic billing of any kind. I repeated this a number of times!!

Obviously the person ignored and disregarded my request because now I see BEUTYCLUB has billed my credit card $79.28 for something I did not authorize. The padded envelope which contained my SAMPLE had no paperwork . . . no invoice, no billing, no letter, no instructions.

I tried calling the phone number on my payment “details” page, only to get a recording that it was “after hours”. The recording said to try Live Chat, but the pop-up javascript window at liveperson.net would never open. Very frustrating.

Avoid the hassle and don’t fall for these scams. Do an Internet search for DAZZLEWHITE and you’ll find other discontented people with the same experience.

I will update if/when/how I get my refund.

UPDATED EMAIL:

This email is in regards to your previous dispute involving the merchant,

I got the same load of crap. I ordered from this company a free sample! Not a trial offer, no other memberships, and any and all fine print on this web page was read in detail by myself. I spent over an hour making sure that there were no tricks (as there usually are) and stupidly decided to take a chance that they were up-front and not a scam. Live and learn. They have since fraudulently given out my credit card to at least one other company.

If anyone can give me advice about legal actions towards this company and elitepack (???) please let me know.

I signed up for a “free trial” of Dazzlesmile with a s&h charge of $4.95 and was promptly charged $11.90 s&h and the $79.28 so phoned them although they eventually agreed to reimburse me and I received no charges then , I have now received a charge of $11.90. I have contacted them through my credit card company and they claim it was for a non refundable shipping and handling charge. They have sent me no product and then charge me for shipping and handling. It gets better they offer to send out a sample for me to send back to them for a refund; I told David (supervisor) to mail it to himself and reimburse this fraudulent charge. Needless to say they will continue to do what ever they want Do Not sign up for a free sample as it will cost at least $90. Do Not Give your credit card details to them any good reviews were probably written by themselves.

Forget phoning these crooks, forget BBB, forget useless dazzlesmile online chat and such…

    Do this:

File a complaint with the FTC here:
    http://www.ftc.gov/ftc/contact.shtm

Then get your bank or card company to do a chargeback – see this for info on how to do that:

UPDATE: My credit card did a reverse charge against this company for the $79.28. Buyer Beware (of the fine print disclosure on a website).

  7. Jaxx says:

This is a complete scam. You can’t tell the person that calls to upsell you that you don’t want to be part of the club where they negative option bill you, you have to call the cancellation dept and tell them (it also doesn’t seem to work on the website to cancel). After that, to return the product you MUST place your order number on the outside of the package otherwise they will “lose” it and you are responsible. I don’t know how these people get away with this.

  8. bill says:

Same issue here ,only I went to a site that sold me the whitener and I only paid 1.95.
At the bottom of the page there was a statement that said with this purchase you are auto enrolled in beauty club .If you would like to opt out click here.I did that. This month I got charged for it 79. and change.
Fighting it with the card company now
