8 Ways To Be A Good Parent to Your Child

Can You Identify The Ways? (Answers at bottom of page)

Read To Your ChildrenI well remember reading to my children on a regular basis. They loved getting books and reading them to each other, or at bedtime before the lights went out. Books are full of adventure and excitement, not to mention educational and great practice of a child’s reading skills. Closeout books are a wonderful way to add to your child’s “library”. Of course, Amazon has a huge selection of children’s storybooks at low prices.

Your children are growing. You need a ’safe’ place for them to play. How about our own backyards? Just consider how much it costs to take our children to commercial play areas (you know the kind – with inflatables and monkey bars and game machines). Add in our time (time is money) and the gas to drive them there; how much can we save by having our own backyard playground? It will pay for itself over time. Even though they may not have special discounts at the time of this writing, a place called Willygoat has all kinds of playsets and swingsets. Check them out.

Parenting is a difficult and expensive task. Yet, parenting is the most joyous and rewarding part of life, in most cases. To be responsible for the future of an individual is challenging. Teaching high self-esteem and self confidence to our children does not go unfulfilled. A new guide, co-authored by Jack Canfield and Mark Hansen, can help positively influence a child’s life. Dissension in a family costs in time and aggravation. Chicken Soup for the Soul, Guide to Effective Parenting is available here.

Teach Your Children About MoneyHow much does your child know about money? Sure, we say to them, “I can’t afford to buy you this”, but how much do they really understand about the value of money? We can teach our children how to be debt-proof for life. Every loving parent naturally and understandably wants BETTER things for their child than they had for themselves. They want their child or children to be able to succeed in life and become financially independent. Handling money is a subject NOT taught in school. Please consider reading this wonderful e-book about teaching children about money. It could change their future path.

Ok, it’s birthday time and our kids want a party, right? Of course, they do. A neighbor down the street has birthday parties for their children where they rent bouncing inflatable entertainment or hire clowns or magicians. Costs money, right? Time after time, child after child, year after year. Now we can put together awesome parties for our kids with a simple children’s party planning guide, making memories that will last forever. Crafts, projects, ideas, themes – only $14.95 – this will keep their guests happy, too! Cheap price for priceless memories.

I know we did it, so you probably do, too. You take your child to a professional portrait studio to get a professional portrait to put in your albums, send to the grandparents, or have placed on a Christmas card, right?

Keep Your Children's Photos SafeHow would you like to learn how to take professional portraits yourself? Just think of how much money we can save by NOT having to buy the packages after viewing the proofs. OH, they’re all so cute and we can’t afford them all OR they come out terrible and we’ve wasted our time and our child’s patience.

With a video and audio tutorial, you can learn how to take your kid’s portraits all the way through graduation from college. Believe me, my granddaughter recently ASKED me to take her senior high school picture so she could choose the setting and the poise. What a joy to know how to take great looking professional photos and save a bundle of money.

Just maybe your kids don’t like their photos because they’re overweight. That’s a major problem in American society today. Fast food has taken both money out of our pockets and taken nutrition out of our kids’ lifeline. So what to do? Prepare the dinner yourself. After all, we are talking about the health of your children.

Feed Your Children Nutritional Food, Not JunkDo NOT let your kids come into the kitchen to indulge themselves with junk food. SAVE MONEY by not buying snacks that have high caloric content. Get a grip on obesity and save money at the grocery store.

Get kids to exercise. I know when I exercise, the thought of filling myself with heavy food is not even there. Water is a filler-upper and exercise will make our children desire less heavy food and more water-based foods like fruit and vegetables – even if they’re not in the habit of eating them now.

When I was a child (and probably you, too) kids played outdoors – running, biking, skating, etc. until dark. Times have changed but the need for exercise has not. There’s a YOUTH Fitness Solution. Get it now and prevent the “money pit” of down-the-road remedies, diets, therapy and medications that are sure to come your way.

“This doesn’t have anything to do with CHEAP living,” you say? But, it has everything to do with saving money because the healthier you and your family are, the more money you’ll save! Doctors, doctors, and more doctors.

Monitor Your Child's Internet ActivitiesDid you know that 90% of kids today, aged 8 -16, have viewed pornography on the Internet? We started out talking about safety for infants in buying baby stuff. Today we have Internet safety to be addressed. Imagine the anguish we could face and the time and money required to untangle a situation caused by an Internet predator.

For only the small price of $9.95, we recommend you download an informative e-book titled Internet Safety For Children. Save yourself future money and grief.

Now then, what do teenagers spend money on?

Clothes? Yes. Music? Yes. Get it All On EBay – Gently worn or Gently used. Great prices!!
