9 Steps For Listing A Product On EBay

I sell on EBayI’m sitting at my computer listing vintage jewelry on EBay. It’s too hot to go outside so I have the air conditioner set and the ceiling fan above circulating the cool air around my desk. I’m thinking white. Cool white.

Did you know it takes approximately 20 minutes from start to finish to create a GOOD listing on EBay with GOOD photos? (Talking about vintage jewelry here)

1. First, take the pictures. I take about 3 photos per piece.

2. Download photos into computer. Open Photoshop.

3. Adjust for color, clarity, brightness, size, compression, etc.

4. Assign a SKU number to each piece of jewelry so I can inventory them later.

5. Upload the images to my server (www.atlantavintagejewelry.com). I have various folders for each category.

6. Open HTML Editing program. Create a custom page for each piece of vintage jewelry. Add images from the server. Write the description.

7. Open TurboLister (An EBay tool). Copy and paste each new auction or EBay store listing into TurboLister. Assign a price and selling category. Copy and paste the path of the ‘thumbnail’ image EBay uses to show on its preview page. Save.

8. After I’ve accumulated about 10 new pieces of vintage jewelry in TurboLister, I click “Add to Upload”. Then I wait while EBay collects the listings.

9. Open my Inventory Program. Create a new line for each EBay listing. Add the SKU, description, title, and price. Save.

Since time is money, I figure each vintage piece of jewelry I list needs to be profitable in time. Three listings in one hour is a lot of time and work (remember 9 photos, sometimes more for only 3 pieces). So, with four hours per day, I can basically list only 12 new auctions or additions to my EBay store.

Based on that statement, how much money can I make per hour?

Listing is tedious and monotonous. I cannot work on EBay listings more than 4 hours per day.

Oh, and by-the-way, I take GREAT photos. Get additional information here.
