Are We Spoiling The Children?
I’m sitting here thinking about childhood – mine, my kids, my grandkids; and how fleeting childhood is.
As adults we often say, “Oh my, where have the years gone?”
And, as we wearily carry ourselves off to bed at night, the children are still wound up . . . perhaps crying and whining to stay up later.
Children are busy little things. They have a ton of toys and gadgets to fool around with and to occupy their minds. And so, we give them “just a few more minutes, then it’s lights out”. We unknowingly and unconsciously allow them to make the rules and to manipulate us to get their own way.

I well remember reading to my children on a regular basis. They loved getting books and reading them to each other, or at bedtime before the lights went out. Books are full of adventure and excitement, not to mention educational and great practice of a child’s reading skills. Closeout books are a wonderful way to add to your child’s “library”. Of course, Amazon has a huge selection of children’s storybooks at low prices.

There’s only 1 way to correct children and that’s the RIGHT way. . . without anger, without violence, without creating resentment.
That said, however, there are numerous ways to correct a child the proper way.
When I was little (umpteen years ago) just one look on my father’s face was correction enough. He had steel blue eyes and when he was angry with my behavior or lack of it, the sparkle left and his eyes became fierce daggers.
